Barcelona City Council has awarded FC Barcelona the main remodelling licence for the completion of renovation works on Spotify Camp Nou in Spain.

The main licence grants permission to carry out above- and below-ground operations.

Work on the stadium, the showpiece of Espai Barça, started in June after the club’s season concluded.

The club focused on third-tier demolition in the past few months. During this phase, all club sporting activity was shifted to the Estadi Olmpic Llus Companys stadium.

Construction works on the stadium’s surroundings are also scheduled. This involves the construction of an underground car park, a new central smart warehouse, and an exhibition space, named the Barça Hospitality Showroom.

After a collaborative effort between municipal technical specialists and the club’s Espai Barça team to analyse the effect of the adjustments in more depth, the club submitted a revised version of its original plan to the council.
