Avera Gregory Hospital in South Dakota, the US has commenced construction work on a new $39.4m health campus.
The project will be built on a 12-acres site east of Gregory on U.S. Highway 18. It will include a 17-bed hospital, 30-bed long-term care centre and a clinic.
The new 88,000ft2 health campus will accommodate local providers and visiting outreach specialists.
It will feature a 24-hour emergency room, diagnostic imaging centre, larger surgical suite and post-surgical rooms, enhanced dialysis centre, helipad as well as connection to telemedicine services.
The organisation stated that having all the facilities on one campus will remove duplication of services including laboratory and imaging.
For the construction of the new facility, a fund drive has raised more than $3.5m- surpassing a $3m goal. Avera will offer $9m while the balance will be funded over time.
