UK-based property developer Avanton has appointed HG Construction as the main contractor for a new domestic residential scheme valued at £68m ($91.13m) on Old Kent Road
The project, named ‘THE BeCa’, will be located on the former Carpetright warehouse site at 651 Old Kent Road, with construction set to commence immediately, according to HG’s LinkedIn post.
This development is part of Avanton’s larger five-acre Ruby Triangle master plan and will include two towers of ten and 19 storeys.
Designed by Farrells, the scheme will feature 262 residential units, with 40% designated as affordable housing.
The development aims to offer a mix of 170 New York-styled one- and two-bedroom apartments for private sale.
In addition, it will provide a range of amenities such as a concierge service, fitness suite, co-working spaces, a games room, cycle storage, and three communal roof terraces.
