Armstrong World Industries has expanded its exterior architectural metal capabilities with the acquisition of A. Zahner Company in the US.
The acquisition of Zahner will bolster Armstrong’s offerings in the construction and renovation sectors.
It marks Armstrong’s 12th acquisition since 2016, significantly broadening its range of architectural speciality products.
The acquisition also complements the company’s previous takeover of BOK Modern in 2023.
Zahner’s engineering systems and metal surfaces have been utilised in commercial buildings and cultural centres across North America and internationally.

Founded in 1897, Zahner operates production facilities in Missouri and Texas, employing approximately 160 staff in various engineering and project management fields.
Its products have been featured in structures such as the Petersen Automotive Museum, SoFi Stadium, and IBM’s corporate headquarters.
In 2023, Armstrong World Industries reported $1.3bn in revenue and has a workforce of approximately 3,600 employees. The company operates 21 manufacturing facilities and seven additional facilities that are dedicated to its joint venture, WAVE.
