Design-build company ARCO has commenced construction on a new $96m logistics facility for Lecangs, an e-commerce, logistics, and warehousing company, in Apple Valley, California, US.
The project is set to enhance Lecangs’ third-party logistics operations and reportedly represents the area’s most ‘significant’ industrial development since 2018.
Spanning more than 1,207,135ft², the facility is designed with a 40ft clear height and equipped with over 200 dock doors, aimed at streamlining the distribution processes within Lecangs’ expanding West Coast logistics network.
The new development, which will serve the wider Apple Valley industrial region, includes infrastructure improvements such as over a mile of water and sewer utility extensions and road widenings.
Incorporating solar technology paired with battery storage, the facility will facilitate energy management in industrial operations.
The project’s construction timeline is 14 months, with completion set for the end of the first quarter (Q1) of 2026.
ARCO Jacksonville president Dan Croft said: “This ground-breaking represents a significant milestone for Lecangs and the entire Apple Valley community.
“After recently completing successful projects for Lecangs on the East Coast, our team was able to leverage our national reach to provide the same level of expertise and execution in California. Our partnership with Lecangs for this project showcases the power of collaboration while maintaining focus on their operational goals.”
Apple Valley mayor Scott Nassif said: “We’re excited to see Lecangs expanding in Apple Valley. This project isn’t just about a new building, it’s about bringing good jobs, improving our infrastructure, and strengthening our local economy. Lecangs isn’t just a new development; they’re truly investing in our community with this project, helping to build a stronger foundation for future growth.
“Apple Valley is becoming a major player in the logistics industry, and investments like this show that businesses see the value in growing here.”
