Arabian Construction Company has secured a contract exceeding Dh2bn ($544m) from Dubai Holding Real Estate member Meraas for building Design Quarter at Dubai Design District (d3), United Arab Emirates.

The initiative also marks the inclusion of the initial residential community in d3. The project, which is a key component of d3’s master plan, is set for completion by mid-2027 and aims to establish a ‘creative’ living space.

Design Quarter is set to encompass 558 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments distributed across three buildings of one low-rise and two skyscrapers.

These structures are integrated within an elevated podium, which will act as a communal space, fostering a sense of community among residents.

The podium will feature amenities such as pools, co-working areas, and barbecue areas, as well as activity zones for the children.

d3 involves a mix of art galleries, fashion stores, design and creative institutes, and a varied culinary scene.

In alignment with the vision for a car-free and pedestrian-friendly environment, the residential area will be accommodated with car parking via controlled access podium levels.

Dubai Holding Real Estate CEO Khalid Al Malik said: “We are delighted to partner with Arabian Construction Company on this inaugural residential venture. This project not only encapsulates the spirit of artistic living but also contributes significantly to the long-term economic growth of the city in line with Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the 2040 Urban Master Plan.

“The construction of Design Quarter at d3, is a testament to our commitment to fostering creativity and innovation as crucial drivers for sustainable economic progress.”
