The Aberfeldy New Village has submitted a planning application for a new masterplan in Aberfeldy, East London, UK.

The company is a joint venture between EcoWorld London and Poplar HARCA. The new masterplan is an extension of the previously approved Aberfeldy Village Masterplan.

The masterplan includes construction of up to 1,600 new high-quality homes along with up to 25,500ft2 of new retail space, up to 29,100ft2 of new offices and 40,440ft2 of new public realm.

The public realm will include a 30,300ft2 public park, Highland Park, and a new town square at the end of Aberfeldy Street.

To improve links to Poplar and Newham, connections will also be created across the A12.

New walking and cycling routes will be created through a repurposed underpass to improve local connections and air quality.

Additionally, some buildings will have biodiverse and green roofs.

Architect Levitt Bernstein is working with Morris+Company, LDA Design and ZCD Architects to design the new masterplan.

EcoWorld London CEO Heng Leong Cheong said: “We are proud of the positive change we have already delivered at Aberfeldy Village and this new masterplan will build on the success of our decade-long partnership with Poplar Harca.

“We are very grateful to have received such strong support from the community for our plans to deliver new homes, community facilities, a revitalised commercial centre and green spaces in Poplar.

“We look forward working together with them, Poplar Harca, LB Tower Hamlets, the GLA and TfL to make this exciting and ambitious masterplan a reality.”
