US-based machinery manufacturer AAON is soon set to begin works on a major expansion project of its facility in Longview, Texas, US.

The ground-breaking event for this 230,000ft² expansion is expected to take place on 18 July at 203 Gum Springs Road in the city.

In April, the Longview Economic Development Corporation (LEDCO) agreed to support the expansion proposal.

AAON plans to utilise $40m in capital investment for the initiative.

The company intends to boost current product production capacity, develop provisions for new product development, and improve coil production capabilities to meet sustained growth and product demand.

The project is expected to generate approximately 250 full-time jobs in the area.

The new facility will feature three extra loading and shipping docks, a new staff entrance and office, and additional employee parking.

AAON vice-president and president of Coil Products Doug Wichman said: “AAON has been a proud member of Longview and surrounding communities for 30 years.

“There is a tremendous amount of growth opportunity for our Longview location, and we couldn’t be more excited.

“AAON Longview’s partnership with LEDCO and other local development organisations has allowed us to capitalise on unprecedented growth up to this point.

“AAON will continue to support our local communities and team members for many years. We’re just getting started.”
