June 2022 has seen a decrease of 10.26% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.67% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 51.06% in June 2022, a 60% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.02% in June 2022, marking a 27.27% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.89% in June 2022, a 133.33% rise from May 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 107.14% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s construction industry during June 2022 over previous month.
3M posted 15 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 200% over the previous month, followed by Rockwell Automation with 6 jobs and a 100% growth. Honeywell International with 3 IT jobs and Caterpillar with 3 jobs, recorded a 25% drop and a 50% rise, respectively, while Assa Abloy recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s construction industry
Costa Rica commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 34.04% share in June 2022, a 220% increase over May 2022. Brazil featured next with a 29.79% share, down 22.22% over the previous month. Chile recorded a 10.64% share, a drop of 28.57% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.96%, up by 6.9% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 19.15% share, registered a growth of 80% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 14.89% share, down 22.22% over May 2022.
