November 2022 has seen a decrease of 14.34% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.64% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering an increase of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 31.33% in November 2022, a 41.71% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 28.28% in November 2022, marking a 69.22% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 18.15% in November 2022, a 77.27% rise from October 2022.

Top five construction companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 50.96% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s construction industry during November 2022 over previous month.
CDM Smith posted 752 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a decline of 47.45% over the previous month, followed by Black & Veatch with 249 jobs and a 67.41% drop. Komatsu with 185 IT jobs and Honeywell International with 89 jobs, recorded a 48.18% drop and a 35.97% drop, respectively, while General Electric recorded a 5% increase with 84 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s construction industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with an 88.51% share in November 2022, a 50.25% decrease over October 2022. Canada featured next with an 8.99% share, down 38.33% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 2.47% share, a drop of 19.77% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.52%, down by 28.16% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 31.83% share, registered a decline of 65.19% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.71% share, down 30.24% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.93%, recording a month-on-month decline of 83.18%.
