Germany’s construction industry registered an 8.6% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.7% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.66% share in October 2022, recording an increase of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.1% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s construction industry in October 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 43.48% in October 2022, registering a 65.32% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 33.33% share, a decrease of 11.54% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 13.77%, registering a 45.71% decline from September 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 3.62%, down 58.33% over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.49% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s construction industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Vinci posted 25 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 34.21% over the previous month, followed by Bilfinger with 20 jobs and a 5.26% growth. Bauer with 10 IT jobs and Erich NETZSCH GmbHHolding KG with 7 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 250% growth, respectively, while Deutz recorded a decline of 25% with 6 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.36%, down by 57.55% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.04% share, registered a decline of 40% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.59% share, up 23.08% over September 2022.
