October 2022 has seen a decrease of 3.11% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 5.48% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.08% over the last three-month average share.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 36.72% in October 2022, a 20.91% drop over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 32.93% in October 2022, marking an 18.47% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 13.31% in October 2022, a 30.07% drop from September 2022.

Top five construction companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 1.41% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s construction industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Kier Group posted 217 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a decline of 14.9% over the previous month, followed by Bouygues with 187 jobs and a 42.75% growth. Vinci with 100 IT jobs and Nexans with 85 jobs, recorded a 28.57% drop and a 21.43% rise, respectively, while Arup Group recorded a 38.1% increase with 58 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s construction industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 33.12% share in October 2022, a 23.59% decrease over September 2022. France featured next with a 21.8% share, up 18.53% over the previous month. Germany recorded an 8.87% share, a drop of 52.41% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.16%, down by 16.4% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.59% share, registered a decline of 29.68% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.74% share, down 13.47% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.51%, recording a month-on-month growth of 300%.
