May 2022 has seen an increase of 0.61% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.33% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering a decrease of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 43.65% in May 2022, a 2.92% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 24.46% in May 2022, marking a 17.33% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 13.11% in May 2022, a 27% rise from April 2022.

Top five construction companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 0.36% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s construction industry during May 2022 over previous month.
Vinci posted 139 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered an increase of 8.59% over the previous month, followed by ABB with 46 jobs and a 12.2% growth. Titan Cement International with 32 IT jobs and Bilfinger with 32 jobs, recorded a 5.88% drop and a 3.23% rise, respectively, while General Electric recorded a 31.11% decline with 31 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s construction industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 25.59% share in May 2022, a 0.8% decrease over April 2022. Germany featured next with a 15.48% share, down 8.54% over the previous month. France recorded a 12.8% share, a growth of 37.78% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.2%, up by 6.52% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 13.42% share, registered a growth of 10.17% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 11.25% share, down 16.15% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.14%, recording a month-on-month growth of 120%.
