August 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.77% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 6.53% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering a decrease of 0.3% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 55.23% in August 2022, a 1.96% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 23.07% in August 2022, marking a 10.93% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 8.82% in August 2022, a 13.51% drop from July 2022.

Top five construction companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 3.99% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s construction industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Honeywell International posted 306 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 23.89% over the previous month, followed by Larsen & Toubro with 201 jobs and a 9.87% drop. Caterpillar with 67 IT jobs and Jones Lang LaSalle with 53 jobs, recorded a 59.52% rise and a 36.9% drop, respectively, while Eaton Corporation recorded an 8.93% decline with 51 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s construction industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 68.25% share in August 2022, a 0.9% decrease over July 2022. Australia featured next with a 9.44% share, down 4.2% over the previous month. China recorded a 5.51% share, a drop of 12.09% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.36%, up by 0.22% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.1% share, registered a decline of 3.77% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.26% share, down 1.64% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.28%, recording a month-on-month growth of 33.33%.
