Willmott Dixon to deliver new facility at Harwell Science Campus in Oxfordshire, UK
Willmott Dixon secured a £23.7m contract with the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) to construct a research area at Harwell Science Campus in Oxfordshire, UK.
The Harwell facilities building is expected to bolster its footprint as a science and technology R&D organisation.
It will include specialist support space for researchers to experiment and commission new scientific equipment.
UK's Leeds City Council backs proposal for redevelopment of Headingley stadium
The UK's Leeds City Council approved a proposal for the redevelopment of Headingley Carnegie Stadium.
A third-party investor will provide up to £35m to redevelop the stadium.
The improvements will include a new south stand on the rugby ground and replacement of the shared stand.

US baseball team Minnesota Twins is installing power management company Eaton's Ephesus sports lighting light-emitting diode (LED) and controls system at Target Field for the 2017 season.
Target Field is a 38,885-seat open-air baseball park designed by Populous and located in the Warehouse District west of Downtown Minneapolis.
The easy-to-install LED system is expected to improve the viewing experience for spectators and cuts energy usage by as much as 75%.
ScotRail appoints Mott Macdonald to design Inverness railway station upgrade project
The ScotRail Alliance appointed UK-based Mott Macdonald to provide design services for the Inverness railway station improvement project in Scotland.
Mott Macdonald is producing detailed designs for the modernisation of frontage, forecourt and concourse at the new station.
Redevelopment of the railway station is expected to cost £6m and is scheduled for completion in 2018.

Property developer Akademiska Hus selected Cowi to help develop the Albano Campus in Stockholm, Sweden.
The campus is being developed as a scientific hub for more than 15,000 students and researchers and is designed to include a total of 150,000m² university and higher education premises.
Of the total premises area, 50,000m² will be allocated for the accommodation of students and researchers.
Richman Group of California starts construction on K1 mixed-use development
The Richman Group of California Development Company started construction on a $100m mixed-use development known as K1, in Downtown San Diego, US.
The development includes a 23-storey residential tower with 222 apartments, more than 7,000ft² of ground floor commercial space, and parking for 317 vehicles.
It also features an adjoining low-rise building, which is known as ‘The Sliver’.
New Science and Engineering Complex opens at Northeastern University, US
UK-based design and engineering company Arup announced the opening of the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC) at Northeastern University in Boston, US.
The 234,000ft² ISEC building will be open to outside researchers in the fields of computer science, basic sciences, health sciences, and engineering.
Architecture firm Payette selected Arup to provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, as well as energy modelling, façade consulting, sustainability and lighting design services for the project.
First building modules arrive for Newcastle University's Park View Student Village project
UK's Newcastle University announced the arrival of the first building modules at its student accommodation Park View Student Village, representing an investment of £75m.
The university has appointed Galliford Try as the principal contractor for Park View Student Village development.
Almost 800 modules will be delivered to the accommodation site as part of the project, which will see the replacement of the 1970s buildings on Richardson Road. Six new buildings are set to open next year and will provide almost 1,300 ensuite bedrooms for students.
