Europe’s construction & real estate industry saw a rise of 60.00% in cross border deal activity during March 2021, when compared with the last 12-month average, led by Swiss Life Asset Managers’ $513.17m acquisition of Threestones Capital Management, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

A total of 32 construction & real estate industry cross border deals worth $883.82m were announced for the region in March 2021, against the 12-month average of 20 deals.
Of all the deal types, M&A saw most activity in March 2021 with 19 transactions, representing a 59.4% share for the region.
In second place was private equity with ten deals, followed by venture financing deals with three transactions, respectively capturing a 31.3% and 9.4% share of the overall cross border deal activity for the month.
In terms of value of cross border deals, private equity was the leading category in Europe’s construction & real estate industry with $720.37m, while venture financing and M&A deals totalled $86.52m and $76.93m, respectively.
