The assembly includes a door panel with a hinged edge and a lock edge, and the lock mechanism is installed between the first and second faces of the door panel adjacent to the lock edge. The assembly can be configured as a left-handed or right-handed swing door by securing the hinged edge to a door frame accordingly.

Additionally, the patent describes a deadbolt operating mechanism that works in concert with the lock mechanism to transition the deadbolt, first auxiliary retainer, and second auxiliary retainer between extended and retracted positions. The deadbolt operating mechanism includes a four bar linkage that prevents back driving of the components in the extended position.
