British construction company GRAHAM has completed the initial 150 waterside apartments at the Millers Quay development at Wirral Waters, a regeneration project in the UK.
The £130m ($168m) residential scheme, which includes 500 homes across six buildings, is a key part of brownfield regeneration on the River Mersey’s Left Bank.
Millers Quay, which represents the most substantial project within Wirral Waters, will include 100 affordable homes.
Wirral Waters, itself a component of Peel Waters, comprises a UK-wide waterfront projects portfolio aimed at sustainable regeneration.
These initiatives are said to foster economic growth, generate employment opportunities, and introduce new residences and public spaces throughout the country.
Residents will soon occupy the one- and two-bedroom apartments in the ‘Copper Mill’ and ‘Steam Yard’ blocks, which constitute phase one.

By GlobalDataThe remaining 350 homes will be developed in phase two, encompassing ‘Salt House’, ‘Soda Factory’, ‘Glaze Works’, and ‘Lime Studio’, which are expected to be completed by early 2025.
Peel L&P Wirral Waters Development director Richard Mawdsley said: “Millers Quay is the result of incredible partnership working between Peel Waters, PIC, GRAHAM, Homes England, Wirral Council and Wirral Met College, each bringing something very important to the project.
“The impact that this development has had on local construction students and the local community over the last couple of years is truly inspiring and the innovation and skills learnt around green methods of construction will benefit many future generations too. This great work continues as we look forward to completing phase two early next year.”
Situated in the emerging Northbank neighbourhood, Millers Quay promotes sustainable urban living with green spaces and dockside walkways.
The design of Millers Quay, delivered in collaboration with Howells, reflects the area’s industrial past through its architecture.
The construction phase provided learning and employment opportunities, particularly benefiting local students at Wirral Met College.
