HarborOne Bank has transferred ownership of its former headquarters at 68 Legion Parkway in Massachusetts, US, to NeighborWorks Housing Solutions (NHS).
The sale and redevelopment agreement of 68 Legion Parkway was signed late last month. This redevelopment is referred to as the Liberty on Legion project.
Predevelopment planning is anticipated to start in 2025, with construction itself expected to commence in 2026.
This project forms part of a shared vision for the Brockton downtown urban revitalisation plan.
The partnership between HarborOne and NHS dates back to the US’ 2008 mortgage crisis.
HarborOne is said to have provided NHS in-kind office and classroom space to support local needs, with 68 Legion Parkway also housing NHS’ Brockton headquarters.

By GlobalDataHarborOne Bank president and CEO Joseph Casey said: “As HarborOne examined how best to meet the future banking needs of our customers, invest in the vibrancy of downtown Brockton, as well as support the development of affordable housing, the sale and redevelopment of 68 Legion Parkway in partnership with our longtime friends at NHS made perfect sense.”
This revitalisation project will include a new HarborOne Banking Center, as well as upgraded office space for NHS’ Brockton headquarters.
It will also have approximately 50-60 mixed-income housing units, designed to cater to both middle-income and lower-income households alongside ample parking.
HarborOne’s downtown Brockton banking centre will continue operations during the predevelopment phase, with construction planned to ensure uninterrupted service for customers.
NHS CEO Rob Corley said: “We are excited to continue to work with our longtime and valued partner HarborOne Bank to create much-needed housing stock and invest in Brockton.
“Liberty on Legion, as the project will be referred to, complements other NHS projects and will be play an integral part in the revitalisation of Brockton’s historic downtown.”
The projected completion date for this initiative is 2028.
