Veidekke has been selected by Fredensborg Bolig to construct a new residential development at Vollebekk in Oslo, Norway.
The project, valued at Nkr460m ($43.56m) excluding VAT, encompasses the creation of 149 apartments across four buildings, with an underground storage and parking facility.
Fredensborg Bolig CEO Bjørn-Tore Rynning Olsen said: “We are happy to start the construction of this project, and with Vollebekk Stasjon, we are providing Oslo with much-needed housing. Veidekke has contributed their expertise during the development phase, and we are pleased to have them continue with us in the construction phase.”
Vollebekk Stasjon will offer a variety of apartment sizes, ranging from one to five-bedroom units, with areas between 37m² and 104m².
Each apartment will feature private outdoor spaces, and the development will comprise shared amenities such as roof terraces and social zones.
The development’s location will provide access to a preschool, primary school, cultural centre, and sports facilities.

By GlobalDataVeidekke has already commenced the demolition of existing structures on the site and anticipates the start of construction in October this year, with completion expected in late 2026.
Veidekke Oslo department head Kaare Gilhus said: “We are very pleased to be able to start building another large housing project in Oslo. Vollebekk Stasjon is a quality project designed for rational production where we have contributed to the project right from the start. We thank Fredensborg for the trust they show us and look forward to the start of construction in the autumn [of 2024].”
This contract will be reflected in Veidekke’s order book in the second quarter of 2024.
Last month, Veidekke was commissioned a contract by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
Valued at Nkr 2.1bn excluding VAT, the contract involves the refurbishment of the Hammersborg and Vaterland tunnels on Ring 1.
