Construction company Peab has secured a contract from the Swedish Fortifications Agency to construct a domestic military restaurant at the P 18 regiment located in Tofta, Gotland.
The agreement, valued at around Skr126m ($11.95m), encompasses the development of a kitchen suitable for commercial use, a dining area, a café, and staff spaces.
The scope of work also extends to outdoor landscaping and the integration of electrical systems within the new structure.
Peab region manager Anders Bergeling said: “We’re pleased to be able to continue our collaboration with the Swedish Fortifications Agency which places a large, significant orders for the Swedish Armed Forces’ expansion on Gotland.”
Designed to support the regiment’s operational requirements, this dining establishment is reportedly an integral component of the ongoing expansion efforts by the Swedish Armed Forces in the region.
These efforts include additional barracks, a logistics hub, medical facilities for defence personnel, and a coarse-flushing facility.
