The City of Riverside and Eden Housing have celebrated the ground-breaking of Mulberry Gardens Senior Apartments, a new affordable housing development for older generations in California, US.

Located at 2520 Mulberry St, the project will feature a four-storey building with 59 units.

The 1.26-acre site previously housed one-storey office buildings that have since been vacated.

The development will comprise a community room, a mail and parcel room, management offices, laundry facilities, and a building maintenance shop.

The 150-unit Mulberry Gardens Family Apartments will be constructed in the second phase, allowing shared spaces.

Additionally, a pedestrian walkway will be situated between the two buildings, with seating, a bocce ball court, gathering spaces, and a walking loop bordering the property.

“This project is a testament to our unwavering commitment to creating inclusive and sustainable communities where everyone can thrive. I am grateful to our partners for their continued support; together we are building a brighter future for all residents.”

Allgire General Contractors has been appointed as the general contractor for the project, with Dahlin Architecture serving as the architect.

The development is supported by financial partners, including LGMG, AHSC, Riverside County IEHP, City of Riverside HOME, CEC BUILD Grants, and Wells Fargo.
