The project, awarded by Staffordshire Pension Fund, will encompass the development of a 100,000ft² industrial unit accommodating manufacturing, storage, and distribution activities.

Construction of the two-storey facility, to be located at Junction 1 of the M54 motorway, is expected to begin this month.

Caddick’s responsibilities include delivering the base build, which will feature access roads, hardstanding, car parking, cycle storage, and external landscaping.

In addition, Caddick will install loading doors, fire escape staircases, dock leveller equipment, lifts, and ancillary spaces.

The warehouse will also include heating, comfort cooling, domestic hot and cold-water services, electrical installations, fire alarms, and both general and emergency lighting.

Caddick Midlands regional director Ray O’Sullivan said: “We are building a healthy project pipeline in the Midlands, which is flexing our expertise in a number of our core sectors, including residential, commercial offices, and industrial and logistics.”

“We have an excellent team in place to deliver Vernon Park, and we will be working with suppliers and subcontractors across Wolverhampton and the West Midlands to support our delivery of the project.”

The design and consultancy team for the project comprises UMC Architects, Couch Perry Wilkes, and M&E, among others.

Structural and civil engineering services will be provided by Rodgers Leask while Virtus Consult will manage the project and perform quantity surveying duties.

In March this year, Caddick completed the construction of a warehouse facility at the Unity Connect scheme in Doncaster.

The project, called Unit B, was delivered on behalf of the company’s development partner Waystone Hargreaves Land.
