Stobbarts has been selected to support major infrastructure projects at Sellafield, the UK’s most complex nuclear site.
The 15-year framework agreement is valued at up to £40m ($49.92m).
It entails Stobbarts’ assistance to primary delivery partner Sir Robert McAlpine on groundworks and concrete services at the site.
The long-term nature of the contract aligns with Stobbarts’ growth strategy, enabling the company to recruit more local talent and invest further in its apprenticeship programme.
The business is also planning to enhance its current facilities and expand into new premises in the vicinity.
Stobbarts director Adam Stobbart said: “Being part of a long-term framework with the Programme and Project Partners (PPP) allows us to continue employing local people and increase our apprentice numbers. It also allows us to offer more to the local community. We have a steadfast commitment to West Cumbria; to create jobs, invest, and deliver social impact.
