UK-based IWG, a provider of serviced offices and co-working spaces under several brand names, has opened a new Regus office in Djibouti City, Djibouti, East Africa. Located within Salaam Tower, one of Djibouti’s most prominent landmarks, the new centre offers 24/7 access to 61 private offices, five co-working desks and two high-specification meeting rooms.
Djibouti City was selected due to its status as a major gateway and international trade hub. The opening also forms part of IWG’s plans to expand its presence in East Africa and across the wider continent.
IWG has already added more than one million new customers in 2021. The company signed a landmark deal with Japan-based telecommunications giant Nippon Telegraph and Telephone in March 2021 to offer its 300,000 employees access to IWG’s 3,300 worldwide workspaces. Following the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, an increasing number of companies are embracing a hybrid model that retains the office but allows employees to spend a portion of the week working remotely.
