The cornerstone for the new Bahri Logistics Center has been laid at Jeddah Islamic Port in Saudi Arabia.
This 95,436m² centre aims to enhance the logistics infrastructure in the country an will be operated by Bahri, which owns and operates large crude carriers and chemical tankers.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the country’s Transport and Logistics Services Minister and Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) chair Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser.
The ceremony also saw the participation of Mawani president Omar Hariri and Bahri CEO Ahmed Ali Al-Subaey.
For this project, Bahri is collaborating with Mawani and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.
The Bahri Logistics Center is expected to bolster the country’s maritime logistics sector, aligning with its National Transportation and Logistics Strategy.

By GlobalDataThe centre will provide multiple storage options in temperature-controlled areas and have handling capabilities with more than 80,000 pallet positions, 40,000 shelving units, and an annual throughput exceeding 900,000 pallets.
The centre will also offer several services such as container maintenance and repair, bonded storage, and haulage services to its clients.
This initiative is part of Mawani’s commitment to infrastructure improvement and economic diversification for Saudi Arabia.
Al-Subaey said: “Beyond enhancing our capabilities and positioning us favourably in the global logistics sector, the Bahri Logistics Center will allow us to capitalise on new opportunities, substantially enriching our role in elevating Saudi Arabia’s status as a global logistics hub.”
Operations at the logistics centre are scheduled to commence in the first half of 2025.
This comes after development works in Jeddah Islamic Port’s North Container Terminal were completed last week.
The work was executed in cooperation with Red Sea Gateway Terminal.
