British football club Tottenham Hotspur has picked Mace as their construction partner for their new stadium development.

The UK-based developer will be a member of the project team and be responsible for developing pre-construction plans and detailed construction programmes.

It will be co-ordinating with the club to secure specialist sub contract tenders for the new stadium developments.

The stadium project is expected to cost around £400m, reports The Construction Index.

Mace chief executive Mark Reynolds said: "It is of critical importance as it is the flagship development that will act as a catalyst for the regeneration of this area."

It will lead to the development of 579 new apartments and a 180-room hotel along with the new stadium in London, which will have the capacity to seat 61,000 spectators.
