Clark Builders has been selected as the construction manager for the Yellowhead County Edson (YCE) Multiplex project in Edson, Alberta, Canada.

The construction management and general contracting company was chosen by Yellowhead County and the Town of Edson.

In September last year, GEC Architecture was chosen to handle the architectural and design aspects of the YCE Multiplex.

Clark will now collaborate with GEC, the Town of Edson, and Yellowhead County to refine the schematic design, setting a foundation for the construction phase.

Yellowhead County mayor Wade Williams said: “With this step of hiring an experienced and accomplished construction management team, we’re moving ahead to provide a modernised recreation hub for our regional community.

“Our residents will get a multiplex that will deliver a range of recreation services and promote healthy active living for current and new users.”

The project’s scope extends to the renovation of the Centennial Arena and the repurposing of the Memorial Arena for curling, with additional plans to potentially include a gymnasium.

Construction is expected to commence this year.

Edson mayor Kevin Zahara said: “Edson Town Council is excited to see this important step forward. We have the team in place to ensure we get a facility that is focused on functionality and meeting the needs of our regional community.

“A lot of work has occurred in the last several months to get us to this milestone in the project. [Edson] Town Council is firmly committed to getting this project complete as reflected in our Strategic Plan.”
