Norwegian construction and civil engineering company Veidekke has signed a contract with the Student Welfare Organisation of Agder (SiA) to develop a mixed-use development in Kristiansand, Norway.
The estimated value of this design and build contract is worth approximately Nkr450m, excluding VAT.
Veidekke Bygg Agder district manager Atle Monan said: “We would like to thank SiA for their good, close cooperation during the interaction phase and that we have now also been awarded the actual construction commission.
“There is a great need for more student housing in Kristiansand and it is a great pleasure for us to build something that means so much to many people here in the city.
“Veidekke has built beautiful student housing in solid wood in many towns and cities around the country, which is why we are now pleased to build the same here in Kristiansand.”
Located at Lund Torv, this project will comprise two solid wood buildings of five and six storeys, respectively.
