US professional soccer club Inter Miami CF has announced the start of construction on the 131-acre development, Miami Freedom Park.

The multi-phase project will feature the Inter Miami CF stadium, a 58-acre public park, and an entertainment district. These developments are anticipated to open in 2025.

Miami Freedom Park’s main attraction is a new 25,000-seat football-specific stadium.

The privately funded, recreational project will include soccer and youth athletic fields for the community, and several entertainment and commercial offerings such as office space, hotel, shops, and restaurants.

Crews and heavy equipment are currently present at the location, carrying out earthwork and site preparation. This activity will progress across the 131 acres simultaneously with the vertical construction.

The first phase includes the public park, stadium, new infrastructure, entertainment, hospitality, and retail areas.

At the start of this year, Inter Miami CF appointed sports-anchored real estate investment and development veteran Devon McCorkle as president of Miami Freedom Park.

McCorkle said: “Everyone wants to be part of what we’re creating, a new entertainment district that will be the centrepiece of family activities and experiences in Miami.

“We are in discussions with stadium sponsors, hotel brands, major attractions operators, restaurant groups, cultural institutions and many other exciting potential partners. We will deliver an incredible home for them at Miami Freedom Park.”
