Construction and development company Skanska has signed multiple contracts with customers for development projects in the US and the UK.

The projects include the construction of a hospital and data centre in the US and a new facility at Royal Air Force (RAF) Molesworth in Cambridgeshire, UK.

The hospital will be built in Lakeland, Florida, for an existing client. 

The contract is valued at Skr1.1bn ($109m) and will be entered into Skanska’s US order bookings for the second quarter of this year.

The scope of the contract includes a 54,000m² seven-story acute care building alongside medical and support services such as imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy facilities.

Construction has already begun and is expected to be completed in 2026.

Meanwhile, Skanska has amended a contract with an existing client to construct a data centre in Arizona, US.

The deal is valued at approximately Skr700m and will be registered in the company’s US order bookings for this year’s second quarter.

The project is a single-storey data centre with a total area of approximately 23,200m².

Work is ongoing and is expected to be completed in October next year.

Furthermore, the company, in a joint venture partnership with Black & Veatch, has signed an agreement with the UK Defence Infrastructure Organisation, on behalf of the US Air Force, to design and develop a new facility at RAF Molesworth.

The contract is valued at approximately Skr2bn and will be added to Skanska’s Europe order bookings for the third quarter of 2023.

Skanska will conclude the US Air Force European Infrastructure Consolidation work at RAF Molesworth for the US military. The project entails the construction of a new two-storey building, warehousing facility, as well as supporting infrastructure.

Design work will commence immediately, with on-site development set to begin early next year. The entire project is expected to be finished by mid-2028.
