The global construction industry experienced a 16% rise in new job postings related to social responsibility in Q3 2022 compared with the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s whitepaper on Social Responsibility in Construction – Hiring Activity in Q3 2022. This compares to a 129% increase versus Q3 2021.
Notably, Computer and Information Systems Managers jobs accounted for a 6% share of the global construction industry’s social responsibility-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, up 25% over the prior quarter.
Computer and Information Systems Managers, with a share of 6%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the construction industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 25% quarter-on-quarter. General and Operations Managers came in second with a share of 3% in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 37% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent social responsibility roles include Maintenance and Repair Workers, General with a 3% share in Q3 2022, First-Line Supervisors of Construction Trades and Extraction Workers with a 2% share of new job postings.
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were PCL Constructors, Kier Group, Black & Veatch and Heery International. Together they accounted for a combined share of 91% of all social responsibility-related active jobs in the construction industry.
PCL Constructors posted 4,487 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q3 2022, Kier Group 3,600 jobs, Black & Veatch 3,051 jobs, and Heery International 2,558 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the construction industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 59% followed by the UK (14%) and Canada (12%). The share represented by the US was four percentage points lower than the 63% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
