NCC has entered into a two-year contract to pave municipal roads in Oslo city of Norway.
Under this approximately $17.68m (SEK180m) contract, almost 70,000ttof asphalt will be laid.
This contract, which will commence immediately, will meet Oslo’s need to maintain and pave municipal road network, including roads, streets, sidewalks, foot, and bicycle paths as well as select parking lots.
NCC Industry head Ylva Lagesson said: “Together with the City of Oslo, we will improve accessibility and safety of the Oslo road network.
“The assignment is comprehensive and requires expertise as well as the ability to organize and plan operations, which NCC has.”
The Oslo municipality has factored in sustainable solutions, price and environment during contract negotiations.

By GlobalDataAs per the contract allotment criteria, 50% was based on price, 30% on greenhouse gas emissions from asphalt production and 20% on climate-friendly vehicles and machines.
Lagesson further added: “NCC’s production methods have had lower carbon emissions than traditional asphalt production for some time.
“It is gratifying that Oslo has climate requirements for its suppliers and that we can help the municipality reduce its carbon emissions.”
The agreement will be recorded by NCC during Q3 2022.
