Neogen has broken ground on a $70m expansion of its food safety facility in Lansing, Michigan, US.
The expansion involves construction of a three-story manufacturing building located on E. Shiawassee Street, next to other Neogen facilities.
The 175,000ft2 space marks the company’s investment in new manufacturing equipment and laboratory equipment for the test and release of products.
The expansion will see creation of 60 to 100 new jobs, increasing the company’s Lansing footprint from 650 employees to a maximum of 750.
These positions will range from automation technicians and operators to process engineers, chemists, quality engineers, and quality technicians, and managers and supervisors.
The project is scheduled to commence in September 2022, with completion slated in December 2023, and validation and other progress taking place through the following year.
