Erlanger Bledsoe Hospital has commenced construction of a $1.56m new medical office building in Pikeville, Tennessee, the US.
To be built adjacent to the hospital entrance in Pikeville, the new 6,200ft2 county-funded facility will feature 14 exam rooms, a lab, physician offices a nurse station and two procedure areas.
It will also include a new waiting room with 42 seating capacity as well as a designated wait area for parents with paediatric patients.
Campbell and Associates has designed the mechanical and electrical systems for the new facility to provide energy efficient services for patients and staff.
Erlanger Bledsoe Hospital has awarded construction contract to King Construction Group for the new building.
Construction work on the new medical office building is expected to take about 12 months and slated to be opened in next year summer.

By GlobalDataLast month, Swedish multinational construction Skanska secured a contract worth $73m from Montgomery County to construct a multi-purpose event center (MPEC) in the city of Clarksville, Tennessee.
The Skanska-led MPEC project involves construction of a 23,200m2 multi-purpose event venue for the Austin Peay State University (APSU).
The new facility is intended for sports and entertainment programmes, such as men’s and women’s basketball tournaments, ice hockey matches, musical concerts, along with other civic and entertainment functions.
The main arena will accommodate more than 5,000 seats, which will include both suites and concession areas. The MPEC venue will comprise two sheets of ice for hockey, apart from an APSU practice court, APSU locker rooms and meeting rooms.
