Private real estate development company and turnkey construction specialist in Africa, Gateway Real Estate Africa (GREA) has announced that it will build its first commercial office building in Appolonia City, in Ghana.
Appolonia City is a mixed-use urban development 20 km from the centre of the capital, in the Greater Accra Metropolitan area.
The commercial office building will be a Grade A construction and will offer both corporate office and retail space. Appolonia City will house its headquarters and sales office.
The project’s first phase of completion will see an investment of $4m.
Scheduled for completion in 2022, the four-storey complex will benefit from Appolonia City’s roads, power, water, waste management and ICT.
GREA chief investment officer Andre Janari said: “Like all our real estate solutions across Africa, Appolonia City’s office building will have quality leases and strong counterparties, starting with Appolonia City itself.”
Appolonia City CEO Bright Owusu-Amofah said: “We already have high demand for office and retail space from companies and individuals wishing to enjoy our Live, Work, Play environment, with offices, homes, schools and shops all within walking distance.”
Designed and delivered by Africa’s largest city developer Rendeavour, Appolonia City is a 2,325-acre master-planned new city in Greater Accra.
With over 700 homes coming up, Appolonia City is fast becoming the destination for companies and individuals who want to escape the hustle and bustle of Accra.
GREA’s new commercial office building will, in turn, support Accra’s economy, thanks to the real estate firm’s synergies with Ghanaian construction specialists, engineers and workers.
GREA is an affiliate of Grit Real Estate Investment Group (Grit), the largest pan-African real estate income group.
One of Africa’s and Ghana’s leading businessmen and Grit board member Sir Samuel Jonah said: “Gateway Real Estate Africa’s investment in Appolonia City’s first office building is a demonstration of GREA and Grit’s vision for superior quality real estate in Africa and setting a benchmark for international investment in Ghana.”
