Clark Construction Group in collaboration with Reeves Young commences construction on the $67m Canton Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Project in Canton, Georgia, the US.
The project, which is completely funded by Canton’s Water and Sewer Fund revenues, is estimated to be completed by 2024. Thisexpansionproject will aid Canton in successfully meeting the demands of residential and commercial growth in future.
Clark Reeves Young team serves as the general contractor under this agreement with the City and will work to improve on the capacity of Canton’s primary wastewater treatment plant to handle six million gallons per day and expand its capacity by 50%.
The new facility will also raise the water treatment system to a higher standard of regulatory compliance after installation of a membrane filtration system that efficiently aids the solids handling process.
Canton Mayor Bill Grant said: “After many years of planning and careful review, the City of Canton is extremely excited to begin work on the Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion project. As thesingle largest municipal project in our City’s history, this investment will ensure years of sustainable growth and improve our infrastructure for future demand, a key tenant of Canton’s ‘Roadmap for Success’.”
With over 40 years of water/wastewater experience Maryland-based Clark Construction Group joins hands with Georgia-based Reeves Young, which has approximately 70 years of experience in the water resources market, to carry out a series of mechanical processes.

By GlobalDataAs part of the project, the Clark Reeves Young team will also put in place an additional grit removal equipment in the existing headworks along with the construction a new control building, a tertiary treatment system, a laboratory, and a new solids handling facility with aerobic digesters as well as a sludge dewatering building.
