Eutopia Homes has secured Housing secretary Robert Jenrick’s approval for its £130m mixed-use scheme in Digbeth, Birmingham.
The new development, named Camp Hill, will be built on a four-acre site near Digbeth, which was acquired by the company along with its investment partner Chenavari Investment Managers in 2018 from Mucklow.
The scheme is part of Eutopia Homes’ major regeneration project for Digbeth and will include 480 new homes, a hotel, studios and a creative workspace in the city centre.
Initially, Birmingham City Council had rejected the plans for Camp Hill due to conflict with local rail expansion plans and the Regional mayor Andy Street had also opposed the application.
Designed by architect Darling Associates, the project will be constructed in seven blocks ranging from three to 26-storeys in height and will be joined by walkways.
It will include a mixture of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, which are planned to be constructed in a series of linked blocks with balconies and roof terraces.

By GlobalDataIt is noted that the tallest tower will have 180 flats built alongside a further 300 private rental homes including 12 four-bedroom townhouses.
Additionally, five percent of the apartments will be affordable.
Camp Hill will also include an eight-storey, 167-bed hotel and about 16,000ft2 of affordable commercial space spread over a range of units.
The site lies within the HS2 enterprise zone, which will benefit from major transport infrastructure improvements, including the opening of the new high-speed rail link in 2022.
Established by Scott Hammond in 2017, Eutopia Homes also has a pipeline of developments in Exeter and Salford, incorporating a mix of build-to-rent and for-sale housing.
