NCC has secured a contract from Region Stockholm’s Administration for Extended Metro to construct the Hagastaden station on the new subway line to Arenastaden.
This contract carries an estimated value of around SEK1.2bn ($140m).
NCC is tasked to construct the new Hagastaden subway station in central Stockholm.
The subway station will be surrounded by apartment blocks, Karolinska University Hospital, the Gustaf Vasa church, offices and other urban developments.
NCC has undertaken several similar projects in the past, such as the new Stockholm City commuter train station and the Norsborg Depot.
NCC Infrastructure business area manager Kenneth Nilsson said: “The project suits NCC. We have the capacity to construct complex infrastructure in inner city environments that are logistically challenging and where considerable attention has to be paid to the public, ongoing operations and traffic.
