The construction division of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been awarded significant contracts for various projects in India, Nepal and Saudi Arabia.
The construction company has classified the orders as ‘significant’, which valued between INR10bn ($134m) and INR25bn ($336m).
The heavy civil infrastructure business of L&T has received a Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Infrastructure contract from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The company said that the RRTS is not similar to the metro rail system as it provides passengers who are looking to travel relatively longer distances quickly with fewer stops.
Under the contract, the business unit will deliver a new, dedicated, high speed, high capacity rail project in the Delhi-Gaziabad- Meerut Corridor.
It will build an 11km viaduct along with five elevated stations from Shatabdi Nagar to Brahmapuri and Begumpul to the Modipuram Depot.
