UK-based construction firm Laing O’Rourke has been selected by developer One Heritage as a preferred bidder to build £160m One Heritage Tower at Greengate, Salford in the UK.
For the 55-storey residential tower, the two parties have signed a pre-construction services agreement while they negotiate the project’s construction details.
One Heritage director Jason Upton said: “We have undergone a rigorous assessment process to reach this stage and it’s a credit to the development and project management teams for getting us to this key milestone.”
The scheme will include 545 apartments, secured underground car parking, a residents’ library and gym, as well as ground-floor commercial space and extensive public realm including a new riverside walkway.
Construction on the scheme is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2020 and is planned for completion in 2024.
Laing O’Rourke UK clients and markets director Ceire O’Rourke said: “We are delighted to have secured preferred bidder status for One Heritage Tower, a landmark building that will provide quality homes in Salford and wider benefits for the local community.
