Kier has announced the culmination of the Perry Barr residential scheme in Birmingham, UK, which is a significant construction milestone for the project.
Over 200 new jobs have already been created for local people through the on-site training and development offered by the project, for which Kier is delivering one of the largest plots, Plot 6.
Once completed, the eight-storey mixed-use building will provide 267 residential apartments and commercial units for the area. It will also feature parking and landscaping.
The Perry Barr residential scheme is part of the wider regeneration in the city’s north-west. It includes improved leisure and community facilities and upgrading transport infrastructure.
Kier Regional Building Midlands managing director Chris Stevens said: “This redevelopment programme supports continued growth in the area and we are pleased to have reached this important milestone, while also supporting the local economy and community.
“This is even more impressive during such a challenging time. Our team have been following Covid-19 site operating procedures, which have been created in line with government guidance.”
