Portman Estate has selected house-building company Galliford Try to deliver a £55m rebuild of 1-4 Marble Arch in London, UK.
Originally built in the 1920s, the building sits directly opposite the Marble Arch monument in the city.

The design for the revamp has been prepared by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM).
According to the plan, a full demolition and rebuild will take place behind the façade. Three floors of retail space and a further seven floors of high-quality offices will be created.
The existing façade will not be destroyed during the current renovation.
Portman Estate projects director Michael Jones said: “Following the success of 1-9 Seymour Street in 2018, we are delighted to confirm that Galliford Try Building has been re-appointed as our delivery partner on our latest direct development, 1-4 Marble Arch.”

Concurrently, Galliford Try has also signed a deal with Cheshire West & Chester Council to buy three sites in Ellesmere Port and Winsford. The company is planning to build 188 homes in the sites.
