NP International (NPI) has awarded a contract to Balfour Beatty for the development of 1.3 million ft2 mixed-use Gables Station in Coral Gables, Florida, US.
The project will see the construction of three towers, featuring 120,000ft² of retail space; 500 residential units, which will include 66 furnished hotel units; and a 1,000-car parking garage.
The site of the Gables Station project is located on US Highway 1 and next to the Miami Metrorail, providing access to the Miami International Airport, Brickell, downtown Miami, Coconut Grove, and Dadeland.
This project will be connected to the Underline Park, which is a ten-mile linear park and urban trail intended to transform the land below the Metrorail project, as well as downtown Coral Gables via the city’s free trolley system.
Balfour Beatty Florida buildings operations president Scott Skidelsky said: “NPI develops meaningful projects in close proximity to public transportation systems in urban locations that maximise value for their communities.
“We’ve had the privilege of being NPI’s construction partner on world-class projects in the past and we’re honoured for the opportunity to once again be their partner in delivering a project as unique as Gables Station.”
