Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance (MassMutual) has unveiled architectural renderings of 10 Fan Pier Boulevard, a 17-storey commercial tower at Fan Pier on Boston’s Waterfront in the US.
This tower will be MassMutual’s new campus in the city.
For this new project, MassMutual has selected Fallon Company to develop the build-to-suit tower at the Seaport District and will be designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects.
Both Fallon Company and Elkus Manfredi Architects are based in Boston.
The new building tower will offer a 310,000ft² waterfront commercial space, featuring prime, ground-floor retail opportunities, while a 5,900ft² outdoor public plaza will face the marina.
The architectural design of the tower will feature a rounded exterior wall, in addition to outdoor and rooftop terraces. The distinct glass façade of the tower with faceted panels set in different planes will accentuate the tower’s curvature.

By GlobalDataIn addition to the tower design, the curvaceous façade of the 10 Fan Pier Boulevard with its tiered terrace levels is expected to create visual interest, aligning with the neighbouring buildings at One Marina Park Drive and 50 Liberty Drive.
MassMutual chairman president and CEO Roger Crandall said: “We look forward to growing our presence in one of the state’s most exciting and vibrant areas and building our campus at Fan Pier, which will be a standout piece of architecture in the city.
“Our location in the Seaport will offer our employees proximity to the city’s amenities, allow us to tap into its expansive talent pool and innovative spirit, and better position us to best serve our policy owners for generations to come.”
Elkus Manfredi Architects CEO and founding principal David Manfredi said: “10 Fan Pier Boulevard provides a fresh perspective on commercial design in the Seaport.
“The curvaceous façade adds visual interest to the neighbourhood and beautifully draws inspiration from the movement and feeling of the harbour it reflects, a characteristic further reinforced by the building’s flowing landscape design and signature water feature, while mirroring the vitality of Fan Pier.”
This new campus in Boston is a part of MassMutual’s expansion and plan to reinvest in Massachusetts over the next several years.
