UK-based engineering company BAM Construction has been appointed by Balliol College to develop the £39.6 million student accommodation project for the first phase of its Master’s Field masterplan at Oxford.
As part of the project, Balliol’s new facility will provide 220 study bedrooms for its undergraduate students during their stay at Oxford.

Slated to open in 2020, the student accommodation will comprise nine new buildings as part of the masterplan, which was architected by Niall McLaughlin.
The project work will begin on the south of the site, at the corner of Jowett Walk and St Cross Road.
Balliol College professor Sir Drummond Bone said: “The project as a whole will transform our accommodation offering to both undergraduates and postgraduates.”
The development is being overseen by construction director Anthony Nagle and it marks his fourth project in Oxford.
