Sweden-based Peab has received a domestic Skr109m ($9.96m) contract from Staffanstorp Municipality Properties to construct an extension to Hjärupslund School in Hjärup, Scania.

The project, spanning approximately 4,200m², will comprise building a new cafeteria, depot, classrooms, and a sports hall.

This turnkey contract in collaboration follows a first-phase agreement, under which Peab worked with the client in order to carry out preconstruction services.

The project will now enter the implementation phase while the works at the site have begun.

Peab region manager Olle Olsson said: “This is an important investment for the future and young people in Hjärup. We look forward to continuing to contribute our expertise to the project. Building schools is an important community project for us.”

The extension at the school is anticipated to be ready by next year.
