Caddick Construction has been appointed to deliver the first phase of Cole Waterhouse’s £260m ($324.3m) mixed-use regeneration project, Upper Trinity Street in Digbeth, Birmingham, UK.
This first phase will be developed with an investment of £43m. The 182,986ft² residential project will feature a total of 211 apartments, with 115 one-bedroom and 96 two-bedroom units.
The development will include three individual blocks, with the tallest reaching ten storeys.
Investment and development company Cole Waterhouse acquired a key site in Digbeth to develop Upper Trinity Street with 943 homes and a public park in January 2023.
Upper Trinity Street is a 5.1-acre development plot which will be converted into a cultural, commercial, and residential neighbourhood built around the aforementioned park.
Following the completion of demolition and enabling works, construction of the first phase will begin shortly, with completion scheduled by early 2027.

By GlobalDataThe contract awarded to Caddick encompasses the design and construction of the apartments, including amenities space, external works, and a shared courtyard area. The project also includes management and fit-out services.
This initiative represents Caddick’s second ‘major’ regeneration project in the Midlands of England, following its contribution to the Port Loop scheme.
The Port Loop project resulted in the construction of 58 new-build apartments, a collaborative effort between Urban Splash and Places for People.
Caddick Construction Midlands regional managing director Ray O’Sullivan said: “Cole Waterhouse has visualised an ambitious and impressive master plan to create a thriving creative and cultural hub at Upper Trinity Street, and we’re proud to have been appointed to bring this vision to life in phase one.
“Caddick has built its extensive expertise delivering high-quality residential projects across the North [of England], and as we take on new and exciting projects in the Midlands, we look forward to bringing our skillset to Upper Trinity Street for our valued client, Cole Waterhouse.”
Before the Upper Trinity Street project, Caddick Construction began an £8m contract to construct a new warehouse for Max Spielman, a photo printing specialist, located at Bromborough’s international business park in Wirral, UK.
