Armstrong World Industries has expanded its exterior architectural metal capabilities with the acquisition of A. Zahner Company in the US.

The acquisition of Zahner will bolster Armstrong’s offerings in the construction and renovation sectors.

It marks Armstrong’s 12th acquisition since 2016, significantly broadening its range of architectural speciality products.

The acquisition also complements the company’s previous takeover of BOK Modern in 2023.

Zahner’s engineering systems and metal surfaces have been utilised in commercial buildings and cultural centres across North America and internationally.

Armstrong World Industries president and CEO Vic Grizzle said: “This acquisition represents a rare opportunity to connect two complementary companies with long, proven legacies of integrity, innovation, and excellence in quality and service.
