Cheadle College in the UK has reached a construction milestone in its £27m ($34.2m) campus redevelopment, with the structural completion.
The topping-out signifies a step towards the project’s scheduled completion in summer 2025.
The redevelopment of Cheadle College is poised to provide advanced facilities designed to cater to the varied needs of its students.
The new campus will feature modern learning spaces for both vocational and academic courses, including Horticulture, Early Years, and Health and Social Care.
Additionally, the development includes specialist areas for the college’s Choices students, such as a sensory room and a dedicated garden.
The campus will also house a new Learning Resource Centre, enhanced student services, and inviting social spaces. It will support the college’s T Level programmes in Health and Childcare, ensuring students have access to the latest educational infrastructure.

Procured through the Procure Partnerships Framework, the redevelopment is a collaborative effort, with £20m of government support and £7m of college equity funding the project.
Willmott Dixon North director Mike Poole-Sutherland said: “As we reach this exciting milestone, we’re proud as a locally based company to be working alongside our partners to ensure this transformative building leaves a lasting legacy for this community and college students. So far, we’ve engaged with 800 local students, delivered 30 weeks of T-Level placements and created three apprenticeships.”
This milestone follows Willmott Dixon Interiors’, an arm of Wimott Dixon, commencement of refurbishment work at the Surrey Maths School, expected to be completed by mid-2025, marking the contractor’s first project delivered through the UK Department for Education’s construction framework.
